A boarding community where routine, mentorship and co-curricular life turn boys into well-rounded young men.
Hospital Hill is home to a boarding community of over 1,210 learners, led by Senior Master Mr. Jared Otwabe and the boarding team. Life follows a steady rhythm of prep, lessons, meals, games and worship, with teachers and support staff on hand throughout — a true second home. A cashless student pocket-money system keeps things safe and simple for parents and learners alike.

Every boarder belongs to one of four houses that anchor dormitory life. At year's end, the house that excels in academics, cleanliness and sports lifts the coveted Bull trophy — the famous inter-house “Bull Party.”
Hospital Hill maintains a clear Code of Conduct setting out expected behaviour, a summary of offences and the possible sanctions. It is shared with every learner and parent, and underpins the school's calm, orderly boarding environment.
NB: In all suspension cases, the parent(s) shall be informed by telephone before the boy leaves the school compound.
Download the full Code of ConductThe school runs a cashless pocket-money system — boys do not carry cash. Each learner uses a Co-operative Bank Visa Smart Card, and parents load pocket money via Lipa na M-Pesa. Only learners with a valid card use the canteen.
Led by Senior Mistress Mrs. Sarah Musembi, with a dedicated team and patron Mrs. Mercy Njagi.
Group counselling in the houses on Wednesday mornings, and confidential individual counselling throughout the term — with professional counsellors invited for complex cases.
Learners weigh their values, talents and interests and complete a subject-choice form with parents and teachers before the December holidays, guided by the careers team and a career wheel at the assembly ground.
Thursday devotions (running since 2017) and weekend worship for Christian, SDA and Muslim learners, plus a school-wide Sunday service and an annual challenging weekend.
There is a place for every talent at Hospital Hill.

The “Nyari Echoes” ensemble represents the school at national drama and music festivals.

Over a dozen clubs meet Wednesdays, 4:10–5:30pm; faith societies meet at the weekend.
Faith societies: Christian Union, Young Christian Society, SDA and the Muslim Society — each with weekly worship, study and community service.
Each term the Principal's Dinner honours top academic and co-curricular achievers, celebrating effort and excellence across the school.
Learners take part in exchange visits, career series and national camps that broaden horizons and build confidence.
